Editorial Policy

Our editorial policy keeps every page useful, accountable and within its proper limits.

How topics are selected

One page for one real task

We choose subjects that fit the six Help. You desks and lead to a useful action. A proposed page must solve a task not already satisfied by another URL. We do not create location, device or wording variants simply to capture more searches.

How claims are checked

Use the strongest suitable source

Editors verify consequential and changing details against primary or authoritative sources when the topic requires it. Our content process explains those checks, while the authors and reviewers page identifies who is accountable. We distinguish general organization from legal, medical, tax or individualized financial advice.

How updates and corrections work

Change the page, not just the label

A correction changes the affected passage and any connected metadata, links or structured data. The reviewed date changes only after a substantive review. Paid placement cannot determine an editorial conclusion, and future sponsored links must be identified for both readers and search engines.
